Before I start this, I need to reprimand myself. My goal is to read 26 books this year, but I have only finished 2. I need to get to work! Next should be something short, and then it is vacation week soon so I’ll be able to get a lot of reading done. Operation: Catch Up On Your Shit starts today.
This book isn’t exactly what I expected. It is about a boy who, after a fit of depression and a close call with a suicide attempt, spends a few days in an adult psychiatric ward at the hospital. This books was described as ‘funny’ on the back but I don’t remember laughing once. It was more sad than anything, to me. Also, I have no idea who finished this book and decided to make a movie out of it but I’ll just have to see it to decide. Nothing really HAPPENS but I wasn’t bored with it. Not terrible, but I’m not going to be recommending it to everyone I meet. I do want one of the drawings from the book like the one on the cover though, they are pretty awesome. Someone should steal this idea and then sell me one of those pictures (or give me one, I’m not picky).
This morning I woke up and my eyes were sore, so I looked in the mirror and underneath them was so swollen and red. After a very mini freak out, and a quick call to my mother, I decided to take some ibuprofen and be on my way. I swear, if I called her and said I had cancer, she would tell me to take ibuprofen and call her back in an hour to tell her how I feel. I also inherited this ridiculous belief.
So, one vanilla latte and a benedryl later, I’m hopefully on my way to not looking completely insane today. My glasses hide most of it, and I tried to take a picture but Barnes and Noble’s lighting does not agree with Photo Booth.
Just saw a dude that used to teach at my high school working and Barnes and Noble…weird. Now that I think about it though, I remember that he got fired. I wonder why…
